myFamilyChannel has hired Nathan Wilson as its Director of Operations, a newly created role to oversee day-to-day operations and lead expansion efforts for the healthcare technology company’s myFamilyChannel platform.

Wilson joins myFamilyChannel with more than five years of healthcare leadership experience. He has led business and operations for senior living and care facilities in Ohio, Tennessee and Kentucky, and most recently oversaw operations for a regional drug and alcohol recovery center. Wilson holds a bachelor’s degree in Integrated Health Studies from Kent State University and an MBA in Healthcare Management from the University of Akron.

“It’s incredibly exciting to have the opportunity to help shape myFamilyChannel into an organization that truly impacts the geriatric population,” Wilson said.

“We want to provide an exceptional experience that keeps our users connected and prevents them from being lonely or isolated as they age. I’m thrilled to be a part of the myFamilyChannel team.”

myFamilyChannel has spent the last several years researching and testing its platform, and counts hundreds of Louisville-area seniors among its base of satisfied users. Already, company CEO Todd Smith has been invited to appear as a guest speaker at local and national events, and share his progressive take on the needs, preferences and capabilities of the massive swath of the U.S. population – those over the age of 65 – that make up myFamilyChannel’s user base.

The company is now preparing to scale its platform to serve a broader customer base and recently engaged JT Smith, former Chief Operating Officer for Philips North America, as its interim Chief Operating Officer. As myFamilyChannel ramps up its expansion efforts to engage customers and potential customers on a national scale, Wilson will play a crucial role overseeing the day-to-day logistics of those efforts.

“Nathan is everything we were looking for: well-educated with sound healthcare leadership experience and, most importantly, a passion for improving the lives of seniors,” CEO Todd Smith said. “We’re all excited to get started, and I can’t wait to see what we’re able to accomplish.”
